Meaghan Tucker is an artist living and working in California, USA.
Urban & street in nature, her work oddly nods to old world Mesoamerican influence; likely a direct result of her strong familial Guatemalan background and Latin American roots.
The work is an obsessive, all-consuming process. High energy, utilizing vibrant opaque colors & spray paint to achieve the necessary fast work with large movement. Patterns are often repeated with many layers and frequent mixing of mediums.
In 2021, Meaghan has begun to return to painterly practices utilizing more brushwork with thick globs of paint.
Meaghan Tucker was born in Southern California in 1986. She currently works in Paso Robles, on an olive farm. She studied undergraduate at San Francisco State University and graduated from Chapman University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in painting and large scale installation in 2011.
